15 years Ribbon Skirt
The Story of the Ribbon Skirt
When Lena is asked to tell the story about how she first sewed a ribbon skirt her eyes always lit up. It was during summer vacation when due to a mix of boredom and tons of creative thoughts the idea for a ribbon skirt popped up.

Lena was surrounded by ribbons since childhood. Her grandmother Aloisia let her play with ribbons and soon those colourful toys became a precious treasure to her. During the summer breaks she was always eager to start creative projects and one particular idea should stuck with her until today.

One day she took all the ribbons she had collected to that point in time and put them on a handcrafted circle skirt. Even though Lena was quite satisfied with her making, she couldn’t help thinking of a skirt solely made of ribbons.

In November 2005 Lena finally sold her first ribbon skirts. Until then quite a few different versions, improvements and amendments were needed, but the hard work was worth it.

One thing is for sure: Ribbon skirts are intended for life and are made for generations.

Today she knows each step by heart and is aware of the crucial steps to get the perfect ribbon skirt. In the video below you can see how Lena is creating her signature ribbon skirt. Now it’s an easy task for her to pick and choose the right ribbons which finally assemble to a wonderful skirt.

The ribbon skirt is a low-maintenance piece and there are ample opportunities to style it for your daily business or festive events.

One thing is for sure: Ribbon skirts are intended for life and are made for generations.
