Atelier

Dreaming of a bridal gown? Envisioning a couture masterpiece? Seeking a custom-made dirndl or a one-of-a-kind ribbon skirt? Then Lena Hoschek’s wood-paneled atelier in Längenfeldgasse, Vienna, is the perfect place for you. When it comes to design and made-to-order creations, Thomas Kirchgrabner is the master of precision – whether you already have a specific vision or are seeking inspiration. Lena Hoschek herself trusted him to bring her intricately detailed wedding dress made from Lyon cotton lace, hand-stitched onto satin duchesse, to life. Design, fabric selection, and fittings – it’s craftsmanship that strives for excellence. By the way, every customer is treated with the same care and attention as the boss herself.

Head of Couture Atelier

Crafted with special dedication and love Lena Hoschek Atelier designs and tailors the bridal or evening dress of your dreams with exceptional dedication and love. From veils to ring pillows, we can also create all the accessories you desire. In 2012, the Lena Hoschek brand expanded with the introduction of the Couture line, ‘Lena Hoschek Atelier.’ ‘In a one-on-one meeting, I discuss with the client what the dress needs to achieve, the occasion it’s for, and how she wants to feel,’ says Thomas Kirchgrabner. In August 2013, Lena Hoschek appointed the Linz-native designer, who previously created his own collections for Liska in cashmere knitwear, fur, evening dresses, and shoes, as the Head of Couture Atelier. Not without reason: the fashion designer has an innate ability to capture the moment, to understand what fits and works, and operates under the motto ‘Close to your skin’ – every fabric should snugly and sculpturally embrace the body.

‘The customer should radiate happiness and feel beautiful.’

Made to order since 2012

What Thomas takes on is the perfect blend of craftsmanship, aesthetic sensibility, and empathy for every customer’s request. After the design and fabric selection, you witness the dress taking shape and the extensive handwork that goes into it. ‘I love it when we can see the sparkle in the wearer’s eyes during the final fitting and receive wedding photos after the big day,’ says the designer. The range of desires can extend from unique ribbon skirts to special silk dirndls. ‘When you have a silk dirndl custom-made by us, it is 95 percent made in Austria because the silk comes from Vienna, is woven here, and the dirndl is crafted by us, with only accessories and linings sourced externally,’ shares the fashion designer, whose creations have been worn by personalities like Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lauren Daigle, Aura Dione, Dita Von Teese, Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Mila Kunis.

Satisfaction in Detailed Work

Whether you are a bride-to-be or a customer dreaming of a couture gown, the made-to-order process is celebrated through various stages: Lena Hoschek’s team tailors each piece to individual preferences, resulting in a perfectly fitted masterpiece. During the initial fitting, the focus is on the overall fit of the dress: specific details like sleeve variations, trains, and lace elements are pinned directly on the customer. Depending on the complexity and design, there can be up to three more fittings. For elaborate dresses, a lead time of at least six months is required. We also create accessories such as veils, ring pillows, ties, bow ties, and pocket squares to match the occasion.
